Agnieszka Kolodziej, cello (en)

agnieszka_smallAgnieszka Kolodziej began her cello studies at the age of ten in Lodz, Poland. In 2005, she graduated from the Wieniawski School of Music. She continued her studies at Towson University under professor Cecilia Barczyk. Currently, she is studying at the Bacewicz Music Conservatory in Lodz, Poland with professor Stanis?aw Firlej. In 2003 she won the first prize in The Wilkomirski International Competition in Poznan, Poland and in 2004, first prize, as a member of a string quartet, in the National Chamber Competition in Poland. She is a laureate in the Peggy Gordon Competition in Baltimore, 5 Towns Art Competiton in New York, Alexandria Concerto Competition and a finalist in the Kingsville International Competition for Strings, Texas. In 2003 and 2004, Kolodziej received a special scholarship from the Ministry of Culture in Poland for further development of her talent, in 2004-2005 she got Merit Gold Award and a cello scholarship from the Towson University Music Department. In 2007, was selected to participate in the Gregor Piatigorsky Seminar for Cellists with full scholarship in Los Angeles. In 2004, performed as a soloist at a special audience with His Holiness John Paul II. In 2007, she won the second prize in the International Chamber Music Competition in Lodz, Poland.


Originaire de Pologne, elle commence le violoncelle à l’âge de 10 ans. En 2005, elle est diplômée de l’Ecole de Musique Wieniawski et continue ses études à l’Université de Towson avec Cecilia BArczyk. Actuellement, Agniezka étudie au Conservatoire de ?ód? avec Stanislaw Firlej. L’artiste est lauréate de nombreux prix internationaux en Pologne et aux Etats-Unis. En 2003 et 2004, elle reçoit une bourse spéciale du Ministère de la Culture en Pologne, en 2004-5 elle obtient un Merit Gold Award et une bourse pour violoncelle du département Musique de l’Université de Towson. Et en 2007 elle est selectionnée pour participer au Séminaire pour Violoncelliste Gregor Piatigorsky à Los Angeles. En 2004, elle se produit comme soliste pour une audition spéciale avec sa Sainteté le Pape Jean-Paul II.
